Rudolph “Rudy” W. Linder

Rudolph W. “Rudy” Linder passed away peacefully in Carmichael, California, surrounded by family, on September 6, 2018 at the age of 90. Rudy was born to the late Joseph and Elizabeth Linder in Webster, Wisconsin, on August 2, 1928. Preceding him in death was his beloved wife Muriel, to whom he was married for nearly 66 years, Muriel’s parents Joseph and Clara Dado, brothers Elvin Linder (late Ardis) and Gunnard Linder (Marjorie), infant brother Edward Linder, infant sister Alice Linder and brother-in-law Eugene Epperle. Surviving him are sons Roger Linder (Cece) and Michael Scully-Linder (Peggy), daughter Tracy Bowen (Jeff), grandchildren Matthew Linder (Sara), Megan Denison (Brett), Bradley Linder, Jarred Bowen (Sara Beth Brooks), Kathryn Linder (Ben Winter), Travis Bowen (fiancée Christine Bowman), Sarah Mummert (Daniel) and Krista Davis (Eric), great-grandchildren Catelyn Denison, Jack Denison, Diana Linder, Hunter Davis, Kendrick Linder and Lauryn Linder, brothers Marvin Linder (Janice), Gordon Linder (Beverly), sister Melba Epperle (late Gene) and sister-in-law Marjorie Linder. Many nephews and nieces also loved their Uncle Rudy, and he loved them dearly as well. Rudy spent 74 years living in Rio Linda, CA, where he began early employment at Anderson’s Hatchery. Rudy took an early retirement from Sacramento Valley Tractor Company in 1978, but maintained a very active church life, serving on many committees and boards, and in several officer positions. He was a master craftsman, and built many a piece of furniture, racks and other home decorations for all the family. In his retirement he also became an accomplished artist, creating many beautiful scenes that hung throughout his home, as well as in many others. He and Muriel were well traveled and toured much of the United States and Canada and visited his mother’s homeland of Sweden. He was a loving, caring father to all of his children and grandchildren, and they will forever carry their memories of him in their hearts.
