Roy Lee Crook's Obituary
Roy Lee Crook (March 19,1945 – March 4, 2014)
Born on March 19, 1945 in Drewry Alabama to John W. Crook and Zelma Crook. He was one of six children with siblings Johnny Fred, Clara Lee, Katra, Alvester (Preacher), and Retha. He graduated from Union High School in 1963 and joined the Air Force thereafter. He was stationed in New York, Puerto Rico and Colorado. After an honorable discharge, he began to work for the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development as a real estate appraiser. He later started his own real estate appraisal company with partners, and best friends, Gerald and Theresa Huffman (Drone and Ms. Daisy).
He moved to Sacramento in 1967 and resided with his cousins Darlean and Bettina. He soon met his wife, Alice, and began a family that produced two sons, Anthony and Michael. Later in life, a third son, Alvin (AJ), was placed in his life. His true love, his “baby” was a feisty Pomeranian named Precious who preceded him in death.
He loved playing cards, cooking for others and visiting family in Mobile, Alabama. He was a long time San Francisco 49er fan.
Roy was a hard working, caring and generous man who did everything he could for those he cared for. He survived by wife Alice Morris, sons Anthony, Michael (Cynthia) and Alvin (Rocio). Also, grandchildren Darrian, Janecc, Anthony Jr., Michael Jr., Cristian and Kiara, great granddaughter Leila Mae, special friend Sammie Fanner plus a host of family and friends that he has touched in his special way.
