Marysville
Sue Ollar-McLeod, age 68, was born in Marysville, CA and passed away on September 18, 2025 after a three-year battle with esophageal cancer. She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Robert; her son, Brandon Ross, and his wife, Shannon; and her grandson, Logan. She is further survived by brother, Bill Ollar, his wife, Lisa, and son, Patrick; as well as two sisters: Deborah Keeney, her son James and his wife Matejika with their daughters, Mia and Lily; and sister Lee Ann Ray and her sons, Kyle and Kellen. She is also survived by sister-in-law, Cecilia Gabrielson and her daughter, Catherine, and sons Richard and Joseph. Sue was preceded in death by her half-brother, Richard Gabrielson.
Sue began her work career at age 13 by picking tomatoes during the summer months to buy clothes for school. In later years, she sold insulation throughout northern CA, worked for the Yuba City Employment Development Department, and began a career in residential property management that led to opening her own company, On-site Property Services, where she remained for the next 25 years. During that time, she also sold homes for Pulte, Inc. Sue combined courses at Yuba College with those at Sacramento State to receive her AA Degree. She went on to earn a BA Degree in Women's Studies from the University of San Francisco.
A devoted wife and mother, Sue dedicated her life to taking care of her family above all else. She leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love, resilience, and hard work, all with kindness and a generous heart. Upon hearing of Sue's death, family, friends, and property residents whom she managed expressed it this way:
"She left sparkles behind her everywhere she went."
"She was kind, professional and bent over backwards to help any one of us."
"We love her to the moon and back."
"Never have I met a better human being."
"I've never met anybody like her."
"Heaven has a new angel."
Sue touched so many lives and has had a lasting impact on those around her. She remains an inspiration to all those who knew her.
Rest in peace, my love ... you've earned it.
