Janice May Lee's Obituary
Janice “Bambi” Lee
October 4, 1933 – June 10, 2024
Sacramento, California
Janice “Bambi” May (Shull) Lee of Sacramento, California, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2024, at the age of 90. She was born on October 4, 1933, in Colfax, California, to the late Newman Perry Shull and Isla Elizabeth (Galligher) Shull. Janice was preceded in death by her grandson Brenden Lee, parents Newman and Isla, her sister Anne “Annie” Nicholson (husband Lewis “Nick”), brother Newman “Dewey” Shull (wife Lorraine), sister Virginia Jacobs (husband Robert “Bob”), and brother David Shull. Janice is survived by her children Teresa (Lee) Coker (husband “Ron,” late son Brenden), Jerry Lee (wife Cathy and children Elizabeth and Charles), Joanne (Lee) Felkins (children Amy, Zachary, Jessica, and Matthew), Donna (Lee) Daley (daughters Rachel and Hannah), 16 great-grandchildren, sister Ovatona (Shull) Gilbert, and brother Timothy “Tim” Shull (wife Margaret).
Janice was the middle child of seven, all of whom attended school in North Sacramento, including Grant Union High School. After leaving school, Janice worked for an insurance company, where she met a lifelong friend, Marie Fearn. She eventually worked for the State of California as an executive secretary for the California Superintendent of Schools. She was an amazing mother and raised her four children with love. She enjoyed traveling and visited almost every state in the United States, as well as various countries around the world, her favorite of which was England. She enjoyed reading, watching court shows (especially Judge Judy), playing bingo, and finding a lucky slot machine at the casino, but time with her family (especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who called her “Bambi”) was her favorite way to spend her time. Janice’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life, and she would have moved heaven and earth for them.
Janice will be remembered as the sweetest grandma ever and a beloved mother, sister, and aunt.
