Uncle Leon 💔 🕊️
His wisdom, humor & warmth won’t ever be forgotten.
He left a legacy of kindness, strength & hope that’s like a comforting blanket full of peace.
His home was my happy/safe place, full of unconditional love & no judgement.
Every time I came to visit, being in his presence gave me a burst of joy that lingered until the next.
To hear his voice on the telephone always put a smile on my face & an extra skip in my day, because the two main ingredients in our discussions were laughter & love.
He was one of the brightest minds I’ve encountered & it was easy to stay on the line, listen & share.
It touched my heart when he got teary-eyed as we closed the conversations with “I love you”
As a youngster & even an adult his hugs cured any bumps that occurred
on “the road of life”.
Something I always appreciated & looked forward to was his large variety of soda pop, endless supply of candy & that he was even willing to share the fancy boxed chocolates.
He always said, go ahead put one in your pocket for later 😉
Fun filled family gatherings
in Uncle Leon & Aunt Evelyn’s backyard are the best and cherished memories of my childhood.
Swimming in their pool, enjoying delicious barbecues & spending time with my Aunts/Uncles & Cousins was always special because he always strived for everyone to enjoy themselves & walk away with a full belly.
Shopping with him for cat food & scratching a lottery ticket while he looked over my shoulder are just a couple highlights from some of our “good times”
Uncle Leon was an angel on earth and now his infectious spirit is in flight and near all who loved him.
I’m blessed to be his niece, honored to call him my friend and second Father figure forever.
I’ll send love & hugs to him quite often & truly believe he will feel them.
I Love you endlessly Uncle Leon & will miss you for the rest of my life …
& remember this, wherever you wander …
Don’t accept any wooden nickels unless they’re from ME
Your niece
Xoxo
