When I first met my great-aunt, I was 3. She's my grandmother's sister, so I kept calling her "grandma," saying that "you look like my grandma." My mom reminded me to call her auntie because she's my aunt. I invented calling her "auntie grannie" and have called her that ever since. When my family says her real name, Del or Mary Lee, I ask "who?" and they all have to tell me "your auntie grannie."
Aunt Mary Lee - may you rest comfortably in eternal peace. Heaven has TRULY gained its most-recent angel. To my cousins Amin and Frank, may you be comforted knowing how very FABULOUS and impactful Mom has been on my and many others' lives.
