Wilma Jean Roy's Obituary
Wilma Jean (Crenshaw) Roy was born on August 26, 1937, in Okmulgee, OK to the parents of William Roy Crenshaw Sr. and Vera Eva Crenshaw. She was the second of six children.
The family moved to Brawley, California in 1939 then relocated to Sacramento, California in 1951.
Jean attended Grant Jr High School and graduated from McClatchy High School in June of 1956.
On February 23, 1957, Jean married William L. Renfroe and from this union produced two children J William (Butch) Renfroe and Michelle Denise Renfroe.
On June 19, 1965, she married Joseph Roy Jr. On December 26, 1965 she accepted Christ as her savior and was baptized at the May Street Church of Christ.
Jean was a strong willed woman who made sure her family and extended family were well taken care of. She loved interacting with her grand children and great grandchildren during their formative years. One of Jean’s favorite activities was dancing and listening to records. There was always a party when Jean was around. She spent many years throwing fabulous card and swimming parties for her family and friends. Jean also loved creating one of a kind birthday cards for her family. We will always cherish the detail and planning that went into her personalized creations. Jean enjoyed decorating and was well-known for her beautiful and stylish homes.
Jean was a devoted employee of AT&T. She retired in 1997 with 32 years of service.
Jean is preceded in death by her parents, William and Vera; her older sister, Joyce; her younger brother Gerald; and her son Butch.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Michelle; her brother William (Nancy); her sisters Doris and Nadine; her grandchildren Jay, Cortnee (Terrance) and Misha (DaVon); her great grandchildren Bailee, Stephen, Marcus, Rilee, Jace, Deuce and Deya and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
