William "Bill" Murphy's Obituary
William “Bill” Murphy died unexpectedly on Saturday evening, November 26, 2016 at his home in Sutter Creek, CA. He was born march 7, 1932 in Buffalo, NY and came to California in 1957. He lived for many years in Sacramento, where he had a very active income tax business, married and raised four children.
After the death of his first wife, Jimmy, he moved to Las Vegas, co incidentally reconnected with a high school acquaintance, Sally Drake, who was also widowed, having married a grade school friend of his from years past, and they enjoyed the unexpected gift of 12 years of marriage.
Bill was active at Creekside United Methodist Church, he loved working with Christmas Committee each December. He had a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh and will be sorely missed.
He is survived by his wife, Sally, children, William Jr. ,Steven, Terrence and Judy Murphy and David, Ron and Scott Drake, as well as grandchildren, Stephanie, Marshall, Jacob, Sam, Seth, Angela, James, Nicholas, Michael, Sean, Becky, Hannah and Connor and two great granddaughters Karma and Jazleen, his sister Judy Collins and brother Tom Murphy.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, December,7, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Sunset Lawn Memorial Park in Sacramento.
A Celebration of life will be held on Friday, December 9, 2016 at 10:00 am at Creekside United Methodist Church, 100 Main Street, Sutter Creek, CA.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Interfaith Food Bank, 12181 Airport Rd, Jackson, CA
