Walter Goins Burch's Obituary
Walter G. Burch of North Highlands peacefully passed away at his home on Tuesday morning the twenty-seventh of March. Born in Baton Rouge, LA on the first of October in 1930, he was eighty-one years old. Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Burch and Camille Stewart, as well as siblings; Van, Sue, Betty, Eddie, Stewart and Robert.Baptized at an early age, he was re-baptized in 2001 as a member of the Faith Fellowship Community Church. He loved to sing and study the Bible. Walter also enjoyed traveling and academic pursuits. He had a passion for scholarly reading, playing cards and musical keyboards.Joining the Air Force in 1949, after twenty-one years of service, Walter G. Burch retired as a Sr. Master Sergeant. Moreover, he continued serving his country as a civil servant for another twenty years at McClellan Air Force Base.Formerly married to Naomi Beshears, he was the proud father of four children; Cynthia, Mark, Brian and Bradley. Walter leaves behind six grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.While attending church in 2002, Walter met and married his lovely wife, Phyllis. She has been faithfully by his side throughout their inspiring marriage.Walt loved to smile and speak kind words to everyone. He was charming, a witty storyteller who relished a good laugh. He will be missed greatly: yet, he will not be forgotten for his courage, perserverance,thoughtfulness, intelligence and gracious manner. Walter humbly gave his all to God, life, country and people.Friends and family are welcome to participate in the services held on Tuesday, the third of April, at Faith Fellowship Community Church. The location is 5937 Watt Ave, North Highlands, CA, 95660. The viewing is at 10 am and at 11am service begins.Walter G. Burch lives on in our memories and hearts forever.
