Violet Henrietta Nida's Obituary
Violet Henrietta (Wooff) Nida
Our beloved Violet Henrietta Nida, age 98, passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at her daughter Linda’s home in Rio Linda, California; surrounded by family.
Born July 12, 1924, in Santa Rosa, California to Herman and Mary Ann (Slay) Wooff, Violet was the oldest of 3. In 1958, she would move to Sacramento where she would soon meet her soulmate Richard James Nida. In 1960, they would marry, blending their lives and raising 6-children together.
Violet worked at Kuetion Shoe Factory. She enjoyed cooking and gardening as well as loved the Gospel and worshipped our Lord with all her might. She was known to say, “Jesus hold my hand”, “Thank the Lord for all the strength”, and enjoyed the song “When the Rolls Call Up Yonder”. Violet was a feisty and strong woman; not taking guff from anyone and kicking breast cancer in her early 90s. Our beautiful Mom and Grandma will be missed greatly by many as she was loved by all who knew her.
Violet is survived by all her children Madaline Green of Rio Linda, California, Linda Bryan of Rio Linda, California, Richard Spears of Salem, Oregon, Rick (Joann) Nida of Rio Linda, California, Alan Nida of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Helen (Nida) Martin of Las Vegas, Nevada. She is also survived by numerous grandkids, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Preceding Violet in death were both of her parents, her husband, as well as her brother (Milton) and sister (Rosella Wooff).
On Wednesday, January 4, 2023, a viewing will be held for Violet Nida at Sunset Lawn Mortuary from 3pm-6pm [PT]. Funeral services and internment in her final resting place will then be held Thursday, January 5th at 10am, also at Sunset Lawn Mortuary.
