Vernon Frease's Obituary
FREASE, VERNON F., Vern was born March 3, 1918 in Ogden, Utah and died peacefully at home in Sacramento on March 16, 2006 at the age of 88. A WWII veteran, a loving and kind father and husband, Vern is survived by his three children, Eileen Miller of Carmichael, Randy Frease of Sacramento, and Kevin Tad Frease of South Lake Tahoe. He is also survived by his son-in-law Bruce Miller of Carmichael, and was preceded in death by wives Cecile and Barbara. Vern will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Vern excelled in all sports and won trophies in boxing, softball, bowling, and golf. He was a big Giants and 49er fan and loved to watch the games with his boys. In the early 1960’s he and his family were stationed at Chateauroux Air Station in France and traveled extensively throughout Europe. He retired after working 35 years at McClellan Air Force Base. Vern loved to play cards and was affectionately known as Big Daddy during family poker games. He is famous for his stories that kept the kids guessing, including the one about the hillside cows. His kids still sing KaiUmKumKayYa and I Don’t Want No More of Army Life. Friends and family are invited to share in a celebration of Vern’s life to be held at Sunset Lawn Chapel of the Chimes, 4701 Marysville Blvd, Sacramento, at 1pm on Friday, March 24, 2006. An Inurnment with Military Honors will follow at Sunset Lawn Memorial Park. His family would like to express their gratitude for his caregivers from Kaiser Hospice and All Homecare.
