Tonja Goins' Obituary
Tonja Lynn Goins, 60, of Stockton CA, left this world February 9th, 2024, amidst her valiant battle with cancer.
Tonja was born on January 23, 1964, to Hiawatha Givens and Nadine Holton in Oakland, CA. She was the youngest of three children and was gifted a memorable childhood due to her mother’s success in the medical field. While attending Oakland High School she met Rosco Goins II, who she went on later in life to have two children, Tytianna and Rosco III. After graduating from Oakland High in 1982, Tonja then began her studies in Healthcare Administration at Heald college.
Tonja successfully completed her studies at Heald, obtaining her degree in Business Administration. She then started working at Prudential Healthcare, kicking off her amazing career of thirty-five years in the Healthcare Administration field. Tonja’s example of superior work ethic and superb management skills in healthcare instilled a diligent work ethic and amazing business professionalism in her children. Tonja continued to increase her knowledge by obtaining multiple certificates throughout the years. She established herself at Delta Health Systems and quickly rose through the ranks, becoming Director of Operations. She worked timeless hours at Delta, always making sure to give her all. When not working, Tonja enjoyed spending time with her three grandchildren, Kevin, Rigo and Dominik. Their time together consisted of baking, watching movies, and playing games. Every day, working or not, Tonja practiced Kaizen in her relationship with the Lord.
Tonja is predeceased by her parents Hiawatha Givens and Nadine Holton as well as her nephew Kyle Lyles. She is survived by her children Tytianna Castillo (Stockton) and Rosco Goins III (Stockton); her grandchildren Kevin Miller Jr. (Stockton), Rigo Castillo Jr. (Stockton), and Dominik Castillo (Stockton); her sister Gloria Lyles (Montgomery, Texas) and her brother Michael Givens (Oakland, California); Her nieces and nephews: Chelsea Barrett, Jermaine Givens, Arianna Givens, Kachett Davis and their respective families. Her two favorite cousins Lula Woods (Sacramento), and Jayeane Busby (Manteca); among a host of other cousins; and her cherished work family at Delta Health Systems.
Services for Tonja will be held at Sunset Lawn Chapel of the Chimes of Sacramento on May 9, 2024 from 12 PM to 1:30 PM.
