Teresa France Johnson's Obituary
Teresa (Teri) France Johnson passed away unexpectedly on August 22, 2024 in Sacramento, CA. Teri was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who touched the lives of many with her warmth and generosity.
Teri was born on October 21, 1955 in Los Angeles and was raised in Burbank, CA. She attended the University of California, Irvine serving as an active member of the Delta Gamma Sorority and receiving a BA degree in Social Ecology, in 1977. After college, working a part time job at Coco’s, Teri met the love of her life, Patrick, and they embarked on a 45 year journey of love, children, and sports across California.
After marrying in 1979 and moving around southern California with their young children, the couple moved to Danville, CA in 1992.Teri immediately started her work at the local elementary school, at first volunteering in the classroom, as the art docent, and on the playground for yard duty, before moving into a permanent role in the Rainbow Room helping children acclimate to school and socializing. Teri dedicated much of her life to the raising of her four children: Grant (41), Spencer (37), Maggie (35), and Parker (31).
Most recently in the couple’s move to Sacramento, Teri was a staple at Sprouts Market as a cashier- building relationships with the local shoppers and brightening everyone’s day. Her smile, laughter, and genuine care for others made her the center of a huge network of family and friends. Her love of sports, especially cheering on her kids as they grew up and watching every Giant’s game with Pat, was insatiable as was her interest in the daily crossword, card games, and jigsaw puzzles.
Teri loved her newest role of “G-ma” to Adelyn (3), Desiree (2), and Roland & Nolan (1) - a title she had been long desiring.
Teri is preceded in death by her father Keith France, her mother Dorothy France, and her brother-in-law William Cramer. She is survived by her devoted husband, Patrick Johnson, son Grant Johnson and wife Kimberly Krisman, son Spencer Johnson and fiancé Sheree Beckman, daughter Maggie Johnson, son Parker Johnson and fiancé Natasha Snapper, grandchildren Addy, Desi, Roland and Nolan, sisters Karen Cramer and Gwen Leevers, brother Ron France, as well as multiple brother and sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her family was her pride and joy, and she dedicated her life to nurturing and loving them.
A celebration of Teri’s life will be held at 2pm Saturday, September 28 at The Lodge at Westshore in Sacramento, CA. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Teri are invited to attend and honor her memory. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Delta Gamma Foundation, The San Francisco Giants Community Fund, or The Golden State Warriors Community Foundation, in recognition of her love for these organizations.
