Teggie Lou Boyd's Obituary
Teggie Lou Boyd, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and dedication.
Teggie was born on September 3, 1943, in Winnfield, Louisiana, to Frank L. Garner and Mertis King. She later made her home in Sacramento, California, where she was raised, educated, and built a life centered on family and community.
She raised three daughters: Sharon, Sherry, and Sondra, who were the pride and joy of her life and met and married the love of her life, Jim Boyd where they were happily married until his passing for 25 years
Teggie dedicated over 25 years of service to Pacific Bell, where she worked as a supervisor. She was known for her strong work ethic, leadership, and commitment to excellence.
Outside of her career, Teggie found joy in antiquing, gardening, and researching her family genealogy. She had a deep appreciation for history and took great pride in preserving her family’s story for future generations.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving daughters, Sharon and Sondra and Sherry whom proceeded her in death on October 25th 2025; her grandchildren, Shamaria Shuler, Shannell Evans, Ariana Williams, and Donald Evans Jr.; and her great-grandchildren, Khamari Jones, Anai Fitzhugh, Zerryck Fitzhugh, and Katherine Williams, along with a host of extended family and friends.
Teggie Lou Boyd will be remembered for her warmth, wisdom, and the love she shared with all who knew her. Her legacy will continue to live on through her family and the many lives she touched.
Service Details:
A service honoring her life will be held at Sunset Lawn Chapel of Chimes on May 15th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
