Mrs. Hunter was the mother of my childhood best friend, Marcella. We lived a few houses apart in North Highlands. She was a great mom & a hard worker. She sold Avon & would give us those tiny sample lipsticks to play with. I loved how she'd call Marcella "Sister" sometimes, & I can still hear her call out "Marcella Mae" when she meant business..and this was about 60 years ago! What a wonderful family. Thank you for letting me be a part of it. Love, Annie

My Aunt Stella was a women full of love, laughter and surprises. I remember on my 6th birthday I was with my dad and we traveled to California to see Aunt Stella and Uncle Max. I thought everyone had forgotten my birthday but Aunt Stella surprised me with a party in her back yard complete with a May Pole! She was also there for me when my father was in Hospice during the last days of his life. She told me stories about my dad and her when they were children and how hard it had been to survive "Homer" and other things I never knew about my dads life. What a strong women she had to be at age 10! I am so proud t have had her as my Aunt , I may not of been able to spend lots of time with her, but she will always be in my heart.Rest in peace Aunt Stella and say "Hi" to Dad and Uncle Max for me!Nancy Elaine (Newell) Butterfield

I have lots of fond memories that Stella and I made together when she was 20 and I was 17. I have always carried her in my heart and thought about her often. I was blessed by her friendship.
