Sandra Lopez's Obituary
Sandra Turner Lopez (2/9/1957 - 1/17/2022), 64, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 17, 2022, at her home in Northern California surrounded by her family. Ms. Lopez was born February 9, 1957 in Calexico, CA, daughter of Natalia R. Turner and John C. Turner. Ms. Lopez was a longtime resident of Imperial Valley and relocated to Northern California in 2005. On July 19, 1974, she married Marcos Cerjio Lopez in El Centro, CA and was married for 41 years until her husband’s passing in March 2015.
Ms. Lopez worked for the state of California at the California Highway Patrol. Her long career started in 1976 as a secretary for the office in Imperial, California and retired as a communications supervisor at Golden Gate CHP in 2014. She proudly served 38 years. As proud as she was of her career for the state of California, she prided herself in her family. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her siblings Robert Rendon and sister in law, Lourdes Rendon of Jamul, California and Diana Ballesteros of Eagle River, Alaska; her children, Dr. Sandra Lopez and long time partner, Wenceslao J. Oropeza of El Paso, Texas, Elizabeth Lopez of Northern California, Gabriel Lopez and daughter in law, Suzanne Lopez of Northern California, Veronica Lopez and son in law, Oscar Jacobo of Northern California, Lorena and Armando Lopez of Rialto, CA, Adolfo Lopez of Garden City, Kansas; multiple grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Services are being held at Sunset Lawn Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home in Sacramento, California and burial will be at Rockville Cemetery in Fairfield, California.
