Ruth Readye's Obituary
Ruth Anna Readye was born in Dornbirn Austria on September 24, 1930 and passed away at the age of 91 on January 2, 2022, at her home in North Highlands California where she had resided since 1974. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Douglas E. Readye and her son William Readye. Ruth is survived by her children Paul Knestel, Harold Readye, Constance Readye, Patricia Davis, Cora Lovell, six grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved nature and visited many state and national parks throughout her life. She enjoyed long, scenic drives with her family (and playing the slot machines at Thunder Valley Casino). Those who knew Ruth will miss her many colorful stories, particularly those regarding her experiences as a youth in Germany during and after World II. Ruth will never be forgotten and will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and neighbors. She will be laid to rest next to her husband Douglas at Sylvan Cemetery District in Citrus Heights, California.
