Im marie butler her granddaughter she raised me and my first born son i will always love you granny
My memories of Ruth are from our days of working together at Camilla Fountains Convalescent Hospital in the late 60' . Boy could she move! She worked circles around all of us young chicks. Never saw someone with so much energy. She was always upbeat and brightened the day for staff and patients alike. Then she would bring the most delicious pies- sweet potato & squash. Had never eaten either until I meet her. And on occasion pecan pie. Then there were the greens. As you can tell her food made an impression on those around her. It wa a pleasure to work with her and get to know her. Ruth was one of the most special persons from my time there. Then I got hired by Sac Co and worked with Trudye Beckwith Lincoln and although I seldom saw Ruth I was able to keep tabs on her through Trudye. Trudye was considered by our coworkers to be on the move all the time. But I knew the truth, her mom could work circles around her.I can't think of Ruth without smiling. I hope the family's joyful memories will ease the pain of loosing such a wonderful mom and grandmother (with as many greats as needed).May God help you through this time with love and peace.Linda Gunderson Puumala
I am Patricia Stewart, granddaughter of Mother Butler, daughter of Pastor Emma Lee Billie, her second oldest child. I will remember my grandmother as a kind and generous person who loved and cherished her family. I mostly will miss our long conversations and her many stories of what was affectionally known by us kids as stories of the olden days. She had a great memory, especially remembering birthdays, it was truly amazing. We will miss our beloved grandmother but always cherish the many, many wonderful moments and special time shared while she was with us.With love,Pat
