Ruby Lee McDonald
Ruby Lee McDonald, age 93, peacefully entered into eternal rest on June 23, 2026. A devoted Christian, she lived a life rooted in faith, love, resilience, and unwavering dedication to her family.
Born on March 3, 1933, in Eufaula, Oklahoma, to Walter Price Sr. and Dona Lela Price, Ruby was the second oldest of eleven children. Her family later settled in California, where she graduated from Madera Union High School. She went on to master Gregg Shorthand and was personally hired by the president of Hibernia Bank in San Francisco to serve as his secretary, a role she fulfilled with professionalism, grace, and excellence.
On December 22, 1953, Ruby married the love of her life, Herbert W. McDonald Sr. Together they shared a loving marriage and raised three children: Lillian O. Iverson, Warren McDonald Sr., and Robert W. McDonald. Their family home became a place of love, laughter, and cherished memories for generations.
Ruby enjoyed traveling with her husband, spending time with family, reading, crossword puzzles, cheering for the Sacramento Kings, and creating lasting memories with those she loved. She was known for her gentle spirit, warm smile, kindness, humility, and the genuine love she showed to everyone she met. She lived a righteous life!
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herbert W. McDonald Sr.; her daughter, Lillian O. Iverson; her grandson, Michael R. Bradford Jr.; and five siblings.
Ruby leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Warren McDonald Sr. and Robert W. McDonald; her siblings Ethel R. Williams, Walter Price Jr., Don L. Price, Minister Joycie Leggs-Shorter, and Jacqueline Y. Slocum; four grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
Ruby's legacy of faith, love, strength, and compassion will live on through the many lives she touched. Though deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she has been reunited with loved ones in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
