Throwing rotten tomatoes at each other. Jerry Wayne
This is a beautiful obituary… thank you family.
So many memories with Aunt Roy Roy.
To me she was not just my aunt …
she was sister, friend, comrade in Christ
and after my mom went home to be with
the Lord in 1995 at only 61, she became
my mom.
One of my most special memories is being
together when she asked my mom, “Dorothy,
are you at peace with dying?” Mom said “No”.
Then Royetta asked, “would you like to be?”
Mom said, “Yes”. Then she led my mom to the
Lord in prayer. This was one week before Mom
(her beloved oldest sister) went home to heaven.
And to share how powerful of one of many
memories this still is, 2 weeks before that moment
the Lord spoke to my heart and showed me He
was sending Aunt Roy Roy to share Jesus with
my mom.
I know many of the family and friends have special
moments with this powerhouse of a woman, who
was always looking to sow and share real life with
everyone in her life and everyone she met.
You are missed here now Aunt Roy Roy, but thank
you for all your love and care and I look forward to
seeing you when I am finished with my assignments
here on earth.
When I think of Aunt Royetta my mind automatically goes back to childhood memories. Summers on the farm when her and Uncle Tommy would come to Arkansas. The house full of laughter while playing card games, spoons being my favorite. Or Roy getting on to me for “double dipping” in the salsa, the front yard haircuts, or telling me to pick the algae off my fishing hook instead of “ just slapping it around in the water making all that noise.” But the memory I will hold the closest was getting to go to their home and have dinner. It was an evening of reminiscing, FaceTiming family back in Arkansas, just being able to spend time with them. Royetta has always been a wealth of knowledge, love and joy and I will always remember her for that. You will be missed down here but I know that you’re truly happy where you are now. I love you Aunt Roy.
