Ronald Duane Jones (88) born April 26, 1937 in Lingle, Wyoming, passed away on February 9, 2026 at home, where he had been surrounded by family during his final days.
Ron's family moved to California in search of work when he was just 7 years old. He spent most of his life in the Rio Linda area. Ron met Lavern Eckman in 1956 at a dance where he swept her off her feet. They married the following year.
Ron was employed at the Blue Diamond Almond Growers where he worked his way up to foreman. He retired after 40 years of service.
Ron and Lavern enjoyed being members of a motorcycle club taking home several trophy's from various runs, and poker runs as well. Their love for motorcycles took them across the county to many states on many trips.
They also enjoyed camping with family and friends and vacationing with their three children.
Ron enjoyed working on his classic cars and participated in numerous car shows over the years winning trophy's and best in show from time to time.
He and Lavern built a vacation home in La Pine, Oregon. There they enjoyed summers with family, especially the grandkids and many beloved pets over the years.
Ron is survived by his wife of 68 years, Lavern, daughter Becky (Bruce), sons Ron Jr. (Annette) and Rodger (Lisa), granddaughters Marsha, Tina, Meghan and Jessica, grandson Nolan, and several great-grandchildren.
