Ronald Douglas Day's Obituary
Ronald (Ron) Douglas Day, 76, of Rio Linda went home on September 7, 2022. He passed peacefully at home with his loving wife of 16 years, Deborah (Debbie) Marlene Penick-Day and their cat Sassy, by his side. He was born on June 1, 1946 in Buffalo New York to parents Douglas Day and Ruth Jochim.
Ron was the oldest of 7 children. He had 3 sisters. Patricia Day, Moreen Sipowitz (Fred Astorgia) and Carla Duran. He also had three brothers. Carlos Duran (Joanie), Mike Duran (Karen), and Steve Duran.
As a child around the age of 10 he along with his younger sister Pat and mom who was pregnant with his sister Maureen moved to California. Once in California he welcomed the remainder of his siblings. As the oldest he was essentially the man of the house. His brother Mike said he was a great big brother who taught him how to do yard work, be responsible and be a good man.
As an adult he worked for Unger Construction. He was a skilled craftsman. He loved working with his hands, building and fixing things.
He had 5 beautiful children. Two daughters, Denise and Charline as well as three sons, Ronny Jr, Derrick and Blake. He also had several grandchildren along with several great grandchildren.
When he wasn't working he loved to spend time landscaping, camping, fishing and panning for gold with his wife Debbie and best friend Chris Lombardo. He and Chris had many adventures throughout their lives together. He and Debbie also loved to travel and enjoyed several cruises to Alaska together.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Pat and his brother Steve.

Sunset Lawn Chapel of the Chimes

Sacramento, Ca
Visitation: Oct 4, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Funeral: Oct 5, 2022 at 10:00 a.m.
A reception will follow. The location will be announced.
