Celebrating Regina
Regina Jean Astoria Scroggins Lyons was born April 10, 1949 in Oakland, CA to the proud parents Alcenia and Willie Rae Scoggins. Educated in Oakland Public Schools Regina graduated from McClymonds High School. Naturally she accepted Christ at an early age. Throughout her life she maintained her faith reading scriptures, praying, watching Sunday services on television but her favorite thing was listening to gospel music as she got up to start her day. As a young woman he fell madly in love with a Navy man named Edward Lyons Sr. To this union four children were born. They were married Oct. 17, 1970 and started their lives in Oakland, CA. Regina loved dancing, cooking and celebrating with her siblings, family and friends but most of all she loved being a wife, mother and grandmother. They moved to Sacramento,CA in 2000. They took in and raised 5 of their grandchildren. Regina was the epitome of a wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker and the definition of a real housewife, Regina loved to joke around and kept others crying with laughter while watching the T.V. show Cops. She loved to keep herself looking good for “Eddie”. Regina leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband Edward Lyons, Sr. “Eddie” as she would call him. Sister Deobrah Scoggins and brothers Michael “Lil Mike” Scoggins and Leroy “Danny-boy” Scoggins, her four loving children, Toni, KeKe, Edward, Jr., and Starlet. Also survived by 14 grandchildren, Delmar “Pooh” and wife Shineka, Kermit “Bubby”, Stephan, Rahim, Kameel, Lonnie, Lil Stephon and Khamari. First granddaughter named after Regina “Tee-Tee” and husband Mack, Laytoya, Keona, Taylor, and Tia. 4 great grandchildren. Zundel, Zaifear, Makiya and Mackael and a host of loving relatives and friends.
