Raul S. Castaneda's Obituary
Raul S. Castaneda entered into rest April 22, 2014 in Livermore, California at the age of 84. Born November 22, 1929 a native of Newton, Kansas. Raul is survived by his wife of 58 years, Catalina C. Castaneda, His children; Rosemarie La Croix, James Castaneda and Catalina M. Lopez, his siblings; Jackie Araujo, Marylou Nathanson, Chuck Castaneda, Margret Ulloa, David Castaneda, Rosie Cortez, Sam Castaneda and Richard Castaneda. Raul is also survived by eight grandchildren; Christina Peterson, Janelle McCollum, Elisa Hemington, Alicia Castaneda, Vanessa Cabrera, Sara Dahlke, Andrea Cabrera and Christopher Castaneda, eight great grandchildren and 3 shortly arriving. He is preceded in death by his parents; Auxelio and Delores Castaneda, his siblings; Elevteria Wagner, Josephine Farias, Elizabeth Castaneda, Sara Duran, Rosa Castaneda, Jose Castaneda and Rita Torrez, and his son; Raul Castaneda Jr.
While Raul was in the U.S. Army he received a National Defense Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Citation, United Nations Service Medal and a R.O.K. Presidential Unit Citation. He also retired from Consolidated Freightways with a safe 2 million mile award.
The family invites friends to attend a Memorial Service Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 6:00pm at Christian Worship Center 241 S. Main Street, Milpitas, California 95035. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Salvation Army at www.salvationarmyusa.org in memorium of Raul S. Castaneda.
