I met Miguel in 2016 while we were both in the throes of litigation against Carolyn Young Fiduciary Services. He trying to free Leana, me trying to free my mother. We were birds of a feather, so we'd meet for meals or drinks to discuss and strategize our cases and became fast friends. Miguel was always supportive, and I loved our time together. He was animated, always energetic and articulate in his language, and often witty. He would regularly reach out to ask how I was doing, and to share updates on our respective cases.
I was stunned to learn of his sudden illness, and stunned even more by his death as I was so very hopeful he would pull through. I simply can't believe he is gone.

Leana was very fortunate to have such a loving and loyal brother. I was relieved and ecstatic for both she and Miguel when he shared the great news last year that he had at last won Leana her freedom from the constrictive guardianship with Young's firm.

Leana will be okay, rest in peace my friend.

Miguel was not only our CFO, he was a mentor, teacher, listener, and friend. For the short time I worked with him I met a guy who was full of life. He made time for everyone knowing that the time he gave would be taken from his day. He saw potential in everyone even me. He told me wanted me to be better at what I did and saw himself in me, I cherish that memory. He appointed me to a higher post which I am always thankful for. I worked with Miguel for only a short time, but it was definitely memorable. I'd been taking accounting classes; a while back when he first started, and he took time out of his day to show me how he understood T-charts. It meant a lot to have someone encourage me like he did. I finally understand them now and he was the only one I wanted to tell. We miss you Miguel. You were a wonderful CFO & definitely a blessing to know. My prayers & strength are with your family.

I worked with Miguel only a short time at SSHH, but during that time he made it memorable. I've been taking accounting classes and he tried so hard to get me to understand T-Charts, I finally got them the other day, and the only person I wanted to tell was him. He had such faith for me. He will be dearly missed. Thank you for everything Miguel. You were such an amazing soul.

I had the honor of knowing Miguel over the last few months at Sacramento Self Help Housing. When he came onboard I immediately felt like I hit the jackpot, what a great boss! He was confident and passionate about his work, and a straight shooter when it came down to handling business. At the same time, he always had a smile and a story to tell… he was a true mentor at heart. He really cared about his team, about our daily well being and our growth as individuals. In 2017 Miguel called me into his office to ask if iremembered him and to give me advice that I am very grateful. He also reminded me that I wore his football jersey in the powder puff game. I very sadly hear of this news. So sad to see another good one die too young. May he forever have peace in the Lord. Cynthia Findlay
