Poitier was born on December 22, 1985, to James Dexter Grant of California and Theresa Steele of Washington, D.C. He was preceded in death by his mother, Theresa Steele.
He leaves behind his father, James Dexter Grant; his uncle, Timothy Martin, his mother's brother; and his aunt, Sarita Hayes, along with other relatives and friends who will cherish his memory.
Poitier's presence in the lives of those who knew him will be deeply missed, and his memory will remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
Family and friends are welcome to join the family for a small graveside service to honor and remember Poitier's life. The service will be held at Sunset Lawn Chapel of the Chimes Cemetery, 4701 Marysville Boulevard, Sacramento, California 95838. Guests are invited to dress casually.
