BLUE, PAULINE T.
Pauline Blue peacefully went home to be with the Lord at her home in Sacramento, CA on September 15, 2014, her 75th birthday. She was born in Charles Town, WV on September 15, 1939. She was married to the love of her life, Grafton W. Blue, Jr., in Charles Town, WV on October 18, 1958.
She is survived by her sisters Helen Becton and Dorothy Jones; her children Dedrea Blue, Danielle Hawthorne (husband Paul), Grafton Blue II (wife Athena), and Octavia Puryear; her grandchildren Paul Hawthorne, Jr. “PJ” (wife Monique), Maddisyn Blue, Tamika Huff, Grafton Blue III, Jordan Hawthorne, Adrian Hawthorne, and Walter Puryear; her great-grandson Kainalu Castro; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Donald and Sarah Campbell; and by her sisters Mary Newman, Thelma Curry, Louise Morgan, Gladys Abrom, and Shirley Ford.
She attended Page Jackson High School in Charles Town, WV, where she was a cheerleader, head majorette, a member of the marching band, and a basketball player.
She supported her husband and country during his 22-year career in the United States Air Force.
She faithfully served the Lord as an Auxiliary member of St. Paul Baptist Church in Kearneysville, WV. She was also very active for over 30 years in the ministry at Calvary Christian Center in Sacramento, CA, where she served as a Greeter, an Eagle Saint, and a Deaconess.
She retired from Civil Service after working over 26 years at McClellan Air Force Base, CA. During her career, she was an active member of Toastmistress International.
She and her husband were inducted into the Sacramento Black Marriage Day Hall of Fame on March 13, 2010.
Her wisdom, grace, and generous spirit will be greatly missed by family and friends.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 24 from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at Sunset Lawn Chapel of the Chimes, 4701 Marysville Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95838
A Homegoing Celebration will be held Thursday, September 25 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Christian Center, 2665 Del Paso Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95815
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 27 at 3:00 p.m. at Wainwright Baptist Church, 413 W. Avis Street, Charles Town, WV 25414.
