Paul Clifford Ward's Obituary
Paul Ward, 72, of Rio Linda, CA passed away on October 14, 2022, after a yearlong illness.
Paul was born to Betty and Robert Ward in Alameda, CA. He graduated from Rio Linda High School in 1969 and went on to a lifetime career as an auto and forklift mechanic. Paul retired from his own successful business, Paul Ward’s Forklift Maintenance in 2012.
In 1966, Paul met his forever love, Rebecca. Paul and Rebecca were married in 1969, and went on to have one daughter, Dina. They celebrated 53 years of marriage in July, 2022.
Paul had a passion for all things mechanical. His love of cars was passed to his daughter and grandsons. They frequently enjoyed attending summer car shows and Nascar races. Paul was a member of the Cherrietters car club in Rio Linda.
Paul was predeceased to paradise by his mother Betty Shunney; step-father Edward Shunney; and brother Brian Shunney. He is survived by his wife Rebecca; daughter Dina Thiessen; son-in-law Todd Thiessen; grandsons Austin and Logan; sisters Ruth Ward and Anna Shunney; and brothers John Ward and James Shunney.
