Nancy Nadean Griffith's Obituary
Nancy Nadean Griffith, 88, of Cameron Park CA passed away on March 8, 2025. Nancy was born on May 4, 1936 to Dewey Riddle and Anna Bush in Erwin, TN. In 1955 she met her husband, Raymond Vance Griffith, in CA on a visit with her brother. They were soon a couple and married on December 3, 1955 in Chesterfield, SC. They were married for 69 years and had three sons: Gregory Vance, Edward Bryan and David Allan.
Nancy spent most of her life a dedicated wife and mother. She also worked outside the home in various capacities including elder care and many years in retail with JC Penney and Rexall drug store. She spent most of her married life in Rio Linda, CA but also resided in Tracy, CA, Baltimore, MD and Kansas City, MO.
She was an integral member of the Methodist Church in Rio Linda and served in many capacities over the years supporting church fundraising activities such as craft fairs and bake sales. Her hobbies included sewing and knitting, gardening and caring for her beloved pets.
Nancy will be remembered as a dedicated mother who doted on her grandchildren and pets after her sons left home. Later in life she was a caregiver for her husband.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, her parents, her son, David, and her sister, Betty Tilson and brothers, Lee Harris, Clinton Ray and Clifford Ray. She is survived by her sons Ed (wife Cheryl) and Greg (wife Nancy) and by her four grandchildren, David Griffith, Jill Jaeger, Sierra Long (husband Jesse) and Chris Griffith (wife Liz) and eight great-grandchildren, Sydney and Kameron Griffith, Austin and Clive Jaeger and Savannah, Autumn, Sawyer and David Long.
A small private service is to be held with family and friends. The family requests that no flowers be sent.
