Mildred "Millie" Brower's Obituary
Our beloved mother and grandmother, Mildred Margaret Brower, affectionately known as Millie, passed away on April 15, 2024, in her home. She was 93 years old.
Mom was the heart and soul of our family. She is survived by four children: Susan, Stephen, Tim and Jennifer and her Godchild, Judy. She is also survived by five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren who lovingly called her Noni. Millie was predeceased by the love of her life, her loving husband Jim in 2013.
Mom was born on August 3, 1930 in Sacramento, CA to Dolores and Daniel Neves. She graduated from Sacramento High School in 1948 and went on to work as a meat-wrapper for 35 years. First for Stop-N-Shop Market and then Bel Air. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, known for her kindness, generosity, and love of family.
Millie was a very active, lifelong member of St. Elizabeth of Portugal Church. She was instrumental in creating the St. Elizabeth Church Sodality, and for many years served as the Sodality Secretary and Treasurer. Mom was very proud of her Portuguese Heritage and her true love and joy was her faith, family and involvement in the church.
She loved gardening, reading, dancing, singing, crossword puzzles, crafting, baking, playing pinochle and family gatherings. She loved nothing more than being with her family and hosting every holiday. She never missed an event for her children and grandchildren. She was the rock of the family.
A funeral service to celebrate Mom’s life will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at St. Elizabeth of Portugal Church. Viewing at 10:00 a.m. and Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m.
