It is with profound sadness to announce the passing of Michael Joseph Kastan. On April 17, 2025, Michael unexpectedly slipped away from his earthly bonds at his home in the city of Sacramento and gently entered eternal rest. He was born Dec 20, 1957 in Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii in the pink hospital on the hill – Tripler Army Medical Center. He grew up in Yuba City. His parents Stephen Richard Kastan and Mary Elizabeth (nee Haggerty) Kastan proceeded him in death. He was a cosmetologist just like his mother, he was proud of his attendance to the Vidal Sassoon Academy in London. He was a long-time resident and business owner in Sacramento. Michael was a quarter horse enthusiast and was an amateur cutting quarter horse champion. He looked forward to seeing his clients, coworkers and friends as they were his extended family. Michael was an avid gardener, foodie and patron of theatrical arts. He enjoyed traveling abroad. He will be greatly missed and loved by the many people who loved him and cherished him. May he rest in peace. Celebration of life to be announced, donations can be made to his memory to the Cares Foundation and/or Shiners Children’s Hospital. As Michael would say – blah, blah blah.
