Mervin Vern Ball's Obituary
Mervin Ball joined his wife Barbara and son Don in Heaven on July 16, 2016. He left this world from the comfort of his home in Cameron Park, CA surrounded by his three sons Timothy, Bruce and Stephen. Mervin was born in Sacramento on August 22, 1933 to Naomi Jackson and Vern Ball. He married his high school sweetheart in 1954 and Mervin served his country in the Navy branch of the military. Once again a civilian, he worked for a short period of time at Aerojet before deciding to continue to serve the people of Sacramento as a Sac City Police Officer. During his 27-year long career, Mervin patrolled Sacramento and spent time in the crime scene unit. He and Barbara were avid golfers and enjoyed bowling. In addition to his sons, he leaves behind grandchildren: Jenna and husband Chris, Jesse, Joshua and wife Debra, Nick, Corey and wife Renee, Kyle and wife Chelsea, Kara and husband Patrick , great grandchildren: Janessa, Faith, Troy, Felicia, Bryan, Codey and Elijah and his sisters, Patricia Ferguson and Nancy Massengale and husband David. We will miss Papa greatly. He was a wonderful father and husband. His furry babies, Gigi and Lucy miss him very much.
