Mary Beltran Angel's Obituary
Mary (Amparo) Pelayo Beltran Angel is an immigrant from Jalisco Mexico born on May 17, 1931. She was proud to become a US Citizen on April 21, 1969.
Mary passed away peacefully in her sleep on 12/20/21. She resided in Rio Linda for 60 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Rudy Angel. She was blessed to have four wonderful children, Rudy Angel Jr, deceased (daughter Corrina, son in law Eddie), Sallie Angel Knighten (sons Justin & Bradley), Joe Angel (Angela, daughters-Anissa & Angelica), and Thomas Angel.
Mary joins both of her parents, Eustolia Pelayo Beltran Ortiz and Mauricio Beltran, step-father Juan Ortiz and sister Maria Luisa Serrato in heaven. She is also survived by her brother Basilio Beltran (Margarita) and Pedro Beltran (Rosario) and many nieces and nephews.
Mary’s greatest joys were cooking for family and friends and sharing her love of cooking with Justin, Bradley, and Corrina. Mary volunteered for decades to feed the hungry and underserved. She had the strongest green thumb in town because she also loved to garden.
Mary was a stay-at-home mom until her children were in high school. She began her career with the Rio Linda Food Products known by locals as The Pickle Factory. After several years, she left The Pickle Factory to share her cooking talent with the Rio Linda School District and later with Grant Joint Union High School District where she retired.
Mary’s legacy continues as her family shares stories about her beautiful life, they cook and share with others her family recipes of traditional Mexican dishes and dance and sing to her favorite song, El Asesino.
