Martin L. Koehn, 1926- January 28, 2014
Martin slipped away peacefully in Rio Linda, California, where he resided for the last 18 years.
Born in Goltry, Oklahoma, to Fred Koehn and Mary Koons Koehn, now deceased.
Martin grew up in Oklahoma and Kansas, and moved to California after marriage to Patricia Chick. He resided in Southern California as his family grew, and later moved to Sacramento after retirement. He loved to fish and go camping. He was passionate about his family and always with them. He loved country music, and had several lifelong friends. On many evenings, you would find him winning his opponent at dominos and daily reading his Bible with his grandson and study partner, Dale.
Martin served our nation during World War II in Japan and Phillipin Islands, 1945-1947.
Martin was a hardworking man and worked at ICX trucking for approximately 20 years in Southern California.
Martin was a member of the Faith Baptist Tabernacle Church in North Highlands.
Martin’s Life spanned a legacy of five generations.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia (Chick) Koehn, and second wife, Jeannie (Crase) Koehn. Survived by siblings, Dahna Reiger and Abner Koehn of Kansas. He leaves behind surviving Children, Allen Koehn and wife Susan, Joyce Rodrigues, Brian Koehn and wife Christine, and Karla Rodriguez. Grandchildren, Dale, Mark and wife Sarah, Christle, Lucas, Brian, Danielle, Ariel, Jeremy, Marissa, Amanda and Joshua, Mason and Presley, Samantha, Savannah, Ariana, and Esme. Great Grand Children, Anthony, Joseph, Daniel, Jesse, Nathan, Alaya, Isabelle, and Israel. Great Great Grand Children, Marcus, Makayla, and Noah. And, many other loved ones. Martin was a loving father to all.
Martin will be laid to rest on February 8th, in the year of our Lord Jesus Christ, 2014. The family will receive friends at Sunset Lawn, Chapel of the Chimes, Marysville Blvd, Sacramento, from 9am – 12pm. Funeral Service will be following at Faith Baptist Tabernacle Church at 1 PM, 3501 Q Street, North Highlands. Honors graveside service to follow at Chapel of the Chimes.
