Marion Quinton Nottingham's Obituary
It is with love and gratitude that we ask you to join us for the service and celebration of the life of Marion Quinton (Boe) Nottingham who passed on October 3, 2016 after his fight to recover from his failing heart. Husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, nephew, friend and one of the nicest guys you could ever hope to meet, he loved life, his family and his friends, always had a smile on his face and laughter in his heart. He was generous, caring, and could find the humor in any situation. He was a loyal and honest man, a pretty good golfer, a big Raiders fan and an even bigger Dodgers fan. He even asked the ultrasound tech at the hospital if he could see that his blood was Dodger blue. Born to Marion Jackson and Bertha Nottingham on April 30, 1943 in Phoenix, Arizona where they lived for 11 years. They relocated to California and eventually to Rio Linda, CA where he attended Rio Linda Jr. High and Highlands High School, played football and speed skated. He met the love of his life in Jr. High, Leatha Faye Cox, and they married on November 23, 1963. Planting their roots in Rio Linda they had 3 children, Sheri Lynn Nottingham of Sacramento, Dina LeAnn Fischer of Folsom, CA and Bobby Neal Nottingham of Eugene, Oregon who love him dearly and are forever grateful for the amazing father he was and for the wonderful life he provided them. After a happy marriage of 53 years, he is survived by his wife, Leatha, all 3 children, granddaughters (Fischer) Madison Bailey, Makenzie Elizabeth and Marissa Anne, his father-in-law, James Cox of Roseville, CA and many, many family members and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 am Monday October 10, 2016 at Sunset Lawn Chapel of The Chimes, 4701 Marysville Blvd. Sacramento, CA. 95838 with the celebration of life directly following at the American Legion Hall 6700 8th St, Rio Linda, Ca. 95673.
