Margaret Jean Green's Obituary
Margaret Jean Royston Green passed from time to eternity to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 14, 2020.
Our beautiful angel, Margaret Jean Royston Green was born the third of nine children on December 21, 1958, in San Francisco, CA to her loving parents, David and Margie Royston. Born into a military family their journey took them to San Francisco, CA, Michigan, Japan, Massachusetts and Sacramento, CA. Margaret attended Don Julio Junior High School and graduated from Highland High School in North Highlands, CA. She loved running track with her best friend Ronnie Bolden. She attended one year of college at American River College in Sacramento, CA.
As a young child, Margaret accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. She was a member of Faith Fellowship Community Church and also attended New Testament Baptist Church. She dedicated her life to truly loving, serving, and caring for others. She treated everyone with Christlike love and had many friends. Margaret loved swimming, dancing, and painting. She loved to cook her famous fried chicken for her family and friends. She also made delicious oatmeal cookies to serve with coffee to the neighbors. One of her favorite sayings was, “Treat yourself, don’t cheat yourself!”
Margaret married Carl Clements. They had one son, Kevin Clements who she loved dearly. They were divorced and she later married Elon Carl Green. She helped Carl raise his youngest son, Elon Jr. Through the grace of God, Mr. Green and Margaret loved and took care of one another until his death on March 25, 2016. Margaret continued to love and cherish her family and friends until her death.
Margaret’s beautiful smile, sweet spirit, and outgoing personality will remain in the hearts and memories of her loved ones. Surviving her are her father and mother, David and Margie Royston, her son, Kevin Clements, stepsons, Elon Carl Green, Jr., Steve (Mildred) Green, Victor Green, David Green, and Herald “Jan” Willace, her siblings, Dr. Jacqueline (Ed) Thompson, Patricia (George) Bridges, Harriet Murry, David Royston, CPT. Dwight (Joy) Royston, COL. Hope (Dempsey) Younce, Jewel Royston, and Ingrid Royston, her grandchildren, Laura Green, Steven Green, Jr., Carl Green, David Green, Tommy Green, Mary Strickland, Amanda Moreno, Cristopher Willace, and Kristina Willace, aunts Evangelist Hattie B. Bright, Velma Ford, Josie (Tom) Rose, Rollues Ciardullo, Pattie Mae Mayes, Mattie Mae Gatson, Bessie Royston, Grace “Toy” Royston and Dr. Rosetta Kale-Young, uncles, Joe (Pat) Latiker, James Latiker, Michael Latiker, Prennes Royston, Ezell Royston, nieces Candace Farris, Janae Royston, Danielle (Daniel) Royston-Lopez, Sparkle Williamson, Krystal Williamson, Jasmine (Gio) Pryce, and Amber Royston, nephews Edward (Carmen) Thompson, Jr., Michael (Rachel) Thompson, Jon Thomas Royston, and David Royston, great nieces, Serenity Thompson, Destiny Hope Bush, Axana Smith, Evangelyne Thompson, and Zuri Thompson, great nephews, Julian Pryce, Kristian Williamson-Faggins and a host of other relatives, cousins and friends all who loved her dearly.
Services to celebrate the life of Margaret Jean Green will be held at Sunset Lawn Chapel of the Chimes, 4701 Marysville Boulevard, Sacramento CA 95838 on Wednesday, January 6, 2020 from 10 AM - 1 PM
Interment will take place at a later date at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, Dixon, CA.
