Marcia Lynne Fradenburg's Obituary
MARCI LYNNE FRADENBURG
Marcia (Marci) Lynne Fradenburg passed away on February 1, 2018, at Mercy San Juan Medical Center in Carmichael, California, with family members by her side.
Marci was born September 11, 1950, in Fort Worth, Texas, the second of three daughters born to Robert and Anne Uselton. She attended Palo Alto High School, in Palo Alto, California. It was at the Sophomore Pick-up Dance where she met her soul-mate, James (Jim) Fradenburg; she was 15, he was 16. She graduated from high school in 1968, and a year later – August 30, 1969 – Marci and Jim were married. Together, they had two daughters, Wendy and Stacey.
Marci was a loving and constant presence in her daughters’ lives. She was their Girl Scout Troop Leader, coached their softball teams, hand-made their Halloween costumes each year and planned vacations every summer to make sure her daughters stayed close to family members that lived far away.
Three of Marci’s greatest joys were her granddaughters – Maggie Mae, Kate Elizabeth and
Holly Anne. The girls called her “Gram” and she considered that title her badge of honor. Marci was so very proud of her granddaughters and would share the girls’ photos with total strangers when out and about.
Marci earned an Associate’s Degree in Art in 1987, but she was a talented artist long before that. It was common to find Marci with a pencil, sketchpad and paintbrush in her hand. She was happiest when she was creating art and enjoyed watching others light up when she shared her work.
Marci is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, Jim; daughters Wendy (Patrick) Tully and Stacey (Daniel) Danylan; her three granddaughters, Maggie, Kate, and Holly; her sister, Barbara; her sisters-in-law Lynn (Rick) Hutchinson and Hieu Fradenburg; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Patricia.
Family, friends and others whose lives Marci touched are invited to a Celebration of Life on Saturday, March 10, 2018, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Sacramento Turn Verein, 3349 J Street, Sacramento.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Marci’s name to the American Lung Association at www.lung.org; the American Heart Association at www.donatenow.heart.org; or the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
