Macario Columna Potente's Obituary
Macario Columna Potente, Jr., 83, died 23rd September 2022, at his home in Rancho Cordova. His funeral service will be held on Friday, October 7th, at Sunset Lawn – Chapel of the Chimes – Sacramento, California.
Macario (nicknamed Junior) was born on 24th September 1938 in General Trias, Philippines to Filomena Columna and Macario Potente, Sr. He was a scholar of Far Eastern University and graduated Sumna Cum Laude. He was a CPA and had a successful career as an Accountant. He was the Chief Accountant for San Mateo County for over 20 years. Prior to that, he worked for International Harvester (15 years), San Francisco State University and Muni. He married Gloria Daisy Carrillo on January 21, 1962. They raised two sons and two daughters. Macario moved to the US in January 1975. In his spare time, he enjoyed reading and playing racquet ball. He also loved singing and spending time with family and relatives.
Macario was one of the kindest people you could ever meet. He opened his heart and his home to many families and friends over the years and he will be sorely missed.
He is survived by his devoted wife and four children – Rommel, Reinier, Melody (Gary) and Sheila (Mike); his six grandchildren – Candice, Dylon, Rachel, Cerise, Keira and Michael; his great grandchild, as well – Brooke Taylor.
