NEWMAN, LEROY ALFRED entered into rest July 14, 2003 in Sacramento at the age of 78. Born July 3, 1925 a native of Mobile, Alabama. A resident of Sacramento for 36 years. Leroy is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Omnis G. Newman (ãDeaä), his children Leon D. Newman (Gloria); Annette N. Brown (Joseph); Lynn D. Newman (Patricia). Affectionate step son of Rev. Kathlene Newman, loving brother to Ruth Anderson; James Newman; Naomi Johnson; Nathaniel Newman and George Newman Jr. He is also survived by his grandchildren Julian Newman (Tiffany); Anjanetto Newman-Bentley (Chris); Francesca Newman; Joseph J. Brown; Ratoni Brown; Cicely Newman; Chelsea Newman; Leacy Newman; Damarcus Newman; Zenith Muhammad and Oscar James. Great grandchild Diara Newman and a host of other loving relatives and friends. Leroy is preceded in death by his father Rev. George Newman; mother Gertrude Glover; daughter Angela D. Newman; uncle/surrogate father Arthur Brown. Leroy was a member of the AME Church in his early years. He passed away due to multiple illnesses. The family invites friends to attend a visitation Friday, July 18, 2003 from 4:00-8:00pm and funeral services Saturday, July 19, 2003 at 1:30pm at Sunset Lawn Chapel of the Chimes 4701 Marysville Blvd. Sacramento.
