LEROY JOHNSON's Obituary
JOHNSON, LEROY On May 1, 1919 God blessed this world with the presence of Leroy. He was born in Gilmer, Texas. “Roy” was the second oldest child of Rusher and Willie Mae Johnson. Roy had three brothers Ruben, James, J.W. and one sister Mary Elizabeth Waddell.At a very young age he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and affiliated with the Tuter Church of God in Christ of Paris, Texas under the leadership of Elder A.J. Jackson. At the age of 21 he moved to California. For 39 years he worked as an engineer at Mare Island in Vallejo.He relocated to Sacramento, California in 1965 and remained there until his demise. He joined the Northgate Church of God in Christ under the guidance of Elder William H. Rhodes. Roy was an extremely loving, loyal and devoted soul to his family and all that mattered about them. He was always willing to help others. He was a hard worker. Life for him was not a race, but a journey. He appreciated each and every day and independently lived his life to the fullest. God blessed him to be an amorous, adoring and proud son, brother, uncle, nephew and cousin of many. Roy will be dearly missed.
