HEANEY, GENE L., entered into rest Thursday, April 10, 2003 age 79. A native of Hutchinson, Kansas born Friday, August 31, 1923 and a resident of Sacramento for 62 years. Beloved husband of Erna Heaney. Precious Father of Susan Casto of Sacramento. Also survived by a grandson, Mark Morriss and a great granddaughter Susan Morriss both of Sacramento. Dear brother of Stanley Heaney of Concord, CA. He is preceded in death by both parents Cecil and Mabel (Pugh) Heaney, a brother Al Heaney, and a grandson Timmy Morriss. He was a 17 year member of the American Legion Post 832., A lifetime member of Moose Lodge #255 and a 12 year member of the Ranch Cordova Elks Lodge #2484. He was a retired Glazer of 35 years. Also a veteran of WWII and US Coast Guard for 3 years. The family invites you to attend a visitation 4:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday, April 15, 2003 and a funeral service 12:00 noon Wednesday, April 16, 2003 at Sunset Lawn Chapel of the Chimes 4701 Marysville Blvd. Sacto., Ca. 922-5833. Interment will follow at Sunset Lawn Memorial Park.
