Leola Smith's Obituary
Leola Smith (born Leola Ashworth) was the 4th child of 9 to Benjamin and Abbie Ashworth on June 12th, 1950 in Merryville Louisiana. As a young girl she attended schools in Texas. She enjoyed her collection of dolls and doing her sister’s hair. With a creative mind, she also enjoyed making things: beautiful quilts and Christmas ornaments, canning preserves, and she had a soulful passion for cooking. At age 15 she gave birth to her first child (baby girl) Sheron, and had 2 girls, Cynthia and Aleatha thereafter. She and her 3 girls moved from Texas to San Francisco, CA in 1970, where she gave birth to her 4th child and only son Ray. Her profession was in the clerical field in downtown San Francisco, and accountant for SF Steel. Leola leaves to cherish her memory her husband John D. Smith, her children: Sheron, Cynthia, Aleatha, Ray Farr, stepchildren: Darrell, Beverly, Benadette, Bonita, Leighton, siblings: Benjamin Jr., Minnie Ola, Martha, Margaret, Robert, Steve, Ernestine, and Roy Lee (who preceded her in death). Her grandchildren: Christopher, Markisha, Christina, Marcus, Ray Jr., Cerena, Joseph, Tyrese, Monsrelda, and Esmerelda. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, relatives and friends who will miss her very much.
