Diana Lacross Neihardt
RIP Ken, my oldest brother. You had a heart for critters. While I ran from bees, you put out your hand to them & they had no sting. Our last memorable talk, late at night we were both bleary eyed & silly. You related a few boyhood shenanigans that were belly-laugh funny: bringing your horse upstairs in the old farmhouse & riding the oak bannister back down, “parachuting” out a 2nd story window clutching 4 corners of a blanket, secretly sampling cherry wine from Dad’s barrels. You are my oldest brother, left for the army before I began school so my memories are vague but I recall the heat in summer in the orchard & you showed me a creek in the woods where we could get a cool drink (got out of picking cherries for a minute). Our common blood is our unbreakable bond & you are in my heart & my prayers.
You are now with Faye, the love of your life. You could have had no better mate in all the world. May you both rest in peace & love with Jesus.
