HOOD, Kenneth Robert's Obituary
Kenneth Robert (Bob) Hood of Sacramento, CA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at the age of 91.
Bob was born on February 10, 1933 in Richfield, UT to Delphine Perucca Hood Dye and Kenneth Llewelyn Hood. He grew up in Sacramento, CA and graduated from Grant Union High School in 1951. He enlisted in the United States Navy where he served as a gunner’s mate until his honorable discharge in 1955. He then began a long and prosperous career as a computer programmer in strategic planning at McClellan AFB and then the Pentagon where he retired in 1988.
Bob was an avid golfer and rarely missed opportunities to swing a club. He enjoyed bowling and tinkering on his truck. He had incredible artistic talent and loved putting together model airplanes, cars and trucks then painting them with the utmost detail.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, and his sisters, Mary P. McCrary and Laura A. Dye. He is survived by his daughters; Michelle Hood Davis of Austin, TX; Gina Hood Smilie (Clark) of Plano, TX, his two grand-daughters, Victoria Smilie and Alexandria Smilie as well as his Niece; Carol McCrary of Concord, CA., Nephews, Dennis McCrary (Susan) of Woodbridge, VA; Richard McCrary (Yvonne) of Roseville, CA, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Private family services will be held at Sunset Lawn Chapel of the Chimes in Sacramento, CA.
