In loving memory of Kathryn (Kathy) Marie O’Neal, who passed away at her home on January 12, 2024 at the age of 63. Kathy was born on July 13, 1960 in Sacramento, California to Oren and Sylvia O’Neal.
Kathy proudly earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Davis. She was a gifted artist and enjoyed cake decorating, the theater, painting, and will be fondly remembered for bringing her delicious cookies and cakes to nearly every family gathering. Kathy also had a love for traveling and Disneyland was one of her favorite destinations.
In addition to her artistic passions, Kathy also enjoyed her many years as a public servant with the California Department of Public Health, as a Special Investigator for Civil Rights cases, until her retirement in 2014.
Kathy was a faithful Christian and had a special bond with her nieces and nephews, often taking them to church with her, as well as day trips to San Francisco or special lunches, usually with gelato for dessert.
Kathy is preceded in death by her mother Sylvia O’Neal, brother Toney O’Neal, and sister Sharel Allard; and is survived by her father Oren O’Neal and siblings Rick O’Neal, Tammy Del Nero, Sandra Patterson. She also leaves behind nephews Ricky O’Neal, Scott O’Neal, Mikey Del Nero, Brandon Del Nero, Jacob Del Nero, Eric Patterson, Max Allard, and nieces Elizabeth Del Nero, Juliet Del Nero, Emily Patterson, and Samantha Allard.
A memorial service to honor Kathy’s life will be held at Sunset Lawn Chapel of the Chimes on Wednesday, January 31, 2024. Visitation/Viewing from 9:00am-11:00am and Memorial Services at 11:00am.
Kathy is lovingly remembered, dearly missed, and will forever remain in our hearts.
