Joyce was born on April 29, 1938, to Leonor Castillo Floresca and Frank Meade in Naguilian, La Union, Philippines. She is the eldest of five siblings, Benjamin, Romeo, Norma, and Leonor.
Joyce joined her Creator, leaving behind her beloved daughters, Belle and Dionie; son, Robert; husband, Benjamin Hisoler; and stepchildren Flory, Philmore, Diana Lyn, Jerry, and Gino. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Lorna, Lawrence, Allan, Romeo Jr., Christopher, Nicole, John Robert, Aaron Robert, Mathew, Denae, Pablo, Regina and great-grandchildren Mark Flores, Mauie, Adrianne, Lawrence Jr., Jaylen, Johanna, Apollo, Aaliyah, Nadine, Arakiel, Taiya, Hailena, Moe and Nadiya.
A talented seamstress, Joyce began her career at an early age in the Philippines. Her passion for fashion was evident in her intricate designs and quality work. She also loved to dance, sharing this joy with her husband, Benjie. Joyce was known for her love of cooking Filipino dishes, with specialties like pork adobo and pansit that her loved ones will surely miss. Her favorite expression in Ilocano was “adu la amin,” which reflects her funny, warm and generous spirit. Joyce travelled around the world, embracing new cultures and experiences.
Joyce’s previous marriages were to Dionisio Carino and Genaro Estioco.
Joyce was a radiant presence in the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her time on this earth was defined by love, compassion, and faith in God. With her passing, a significant void has been left in the hearts of her family, friends, and countless others she touched. We encourage you to remember her not for how her life ended, but for the way she lived and the deep impact she made on those around her.
The family will receive friends at the Sunset Lawn Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home, 4701 Marysville Blvd., Sacramento, CA, on Sunday, April 13, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A Celebration of Life service to honor Joyce will be held on April 13, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Rio Del Oro Sports Club, 119 Scripps Drive, Sacramento, CA. Joyce will be cremated at the Sunset Lawn Cemetery and will rest next to her brother Romeo in its Chapel of Reflection columbarium.
While Joyce may no longer be physically present, her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May her memory be a cherished blessing, guiding us to carry on her legacy of love and compassion in everything we do. Her light will always shine brightly in our hearts.
