Joe David Estrada's Obituary
Joe David Estrada, lovingly known as “Chuck” to his brother, “Buddy Owens” to his father, and famously “Joe Patron” to all his friends, passed away in Sacramento, California on May 14, 2025, at the age of 46. Born on March 26, 1979, in Sacramento, California, Joe was the beloved son of Andrea Martinez and the late Arthur Estrada.
Joe grew up alongside his older brother, Amadon Estrada (who preceded him in death), and his younger sister, Jennifer Estrada. He was also a brother to Michael Estrada, Randy Baeza and Monika Cabrera. As a child, he was known for being a bit of a crybaby, but he also had a heart full of love and a laugh that no one could forget.
He attended Johnson Elementary, where he began his love for basketball, followed by Rio Tierra Junior High and Rio Linda High School. Though he didn’t complete high school at the time, Joe was proud to later earn his GED.
Joe met Melinda in middle school in 1994, and together they welcomed their daughter Juliana in 1998. In 2002, Joe met Joann; they married in 2006 and went on to have three children: Joe David Estrada Jr. in 2006, Julian Estrada in 2007, and Johanna Estrada in 2012. Though they later divorced, they continued to share the love of their children. Though life brought its challenges, especially in his later years, Joe loved his children deeply and always held a special place for them in his heart.
Joe had a generous spirit—he was the kind of person who would help anyone and be there for everybody. His kindness, humor, and unmistakable laugh left an impression on everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his children Juliana, Joe Jr., Julian, and Johanna; his mother Andrea; his sisters Jennifer and Monika; his brothers Michael and Randy; and extended family members and many friends who loved him dearly.
