Jesse Flores Sanchez Jr., 70, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2026.
Born on July 28, 1955, in Sacramento, California, Jesse was the son of Jesse Flores Sanchez and Virginia May Sanchez. He was born and raised in North Sacramento. Jesse had four siblings: his sister, Virginia, and his brothers, Raymond, James, and Anthony.
In his younger years, Jesse was a devoted husband to Yolanda Sanchez and a dedicated provider for his family. Affectionately known as "Pop," he was deeply loved by his children: Manuel John Hernandez, Jesse Flores Sanchez III, Isaac Flores Sanchez, Rachel Marie Sanchez, and Violet Sanchez.
Jesse was a loving father who cherished his family and was always willing to offer guidance, support, and compassion to those around him. He was known for his outgoing personality, larger-than-life presence, and sense of humor that could brighten any room. His laughter, stories, and unmistakable voice left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Throughout his life, Jesse faced his share of challenges and hardships. Despite difficult times, he never lost his appreciation for family, his love of classic cars, old-school music, good food, and connecting with people from all walks of life. Generous to a fault, he was known for helping others whenever he could and would often give the shirt off his back to someone in need, even when he had little to spare.
Jesse was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Flores Sanchez; his beloved son, Manuel John Hernandez; and his brothers, Raymond Sanchez and James Sanchez.
He is survived by his wife, Yolanda Sanchez; his mother, Virginia Sanchez; his sister, Virginia Matz; his brother, Anthony Sanchez; his children, Jesse Sanchez, Isaac Sanchez, Rachel Sanchez, and Violet Sanchez; 16 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory and miss him dearly.
Rest in peace, Pop. Your love, laughter, and memory will remain in our hearts forever.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on June 25, 2026, at Sunset Lawn Chapel of the Chimes, 4701 Maysville Boulevard, Sacramento, California 95838. Family and friends are invited to attend and pay their respects.
Immediately following the service, family and friends are invited to gather for a reception and celebration of Jesse's life at the American Legion Hall, 720 Santiago Avenue, Sacramento, California 95815. All who knew and loved Jesse are welcome to join in sharing memories, stories, and fellowship as they honor his life.
