Jerome James Francis Deuser's Obituary
Sacramento, California
Jerome (Jerry) James Deuser, 83 passed away peacefully on Friday, March 12, 2021. Born on May 21, 1937 in Mankato, Minnesota to Francis John Deuser and Catherine Elizabeth Wick, he moved to Sacramento California in 1955.
Jerry was a true Raiders Fan, never missing a game and attending all that he could. His favorite Holiday was Christmas. He would dress up as Santa Claus and go to the Children’s Hospitals and bring them stuffed animals and toys. He then would surprise all his children and grandchildren with a great big HOHOHO. He loved traveling and even was able to take a trip to Graceland. Elvis was his idol. He enjoyed music and would sing to the Beach Boys. He loved celebrating his birthday and always had a band play at his parties. He will be dearly missed by all his family and friends. He worked for and retired from the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 340. He was a member at the Elkhorn Moose Lodge #260, and a member of the Rio Linda, Sons of the American Legion 0521, and Order of the E Clampus Vitus aka Clampers. His saying was, “Keep Working”. Jerry was a loving husband to Lois Deuser for over 49 years. He also leaves behind his sons, James Deuser (Darlene), Elk Grove, CA, Dan Deuser, Sacramento, CA, and his daughter Jeri-lynn Van Dyke and stepchildren, Lauren Pulido (Phillip) of Galt, and Gary Phelps (Consuelo) of Atwater, CA. His grandchildren are Jeremy Van Dyke, Abbigail Foutch, and George (Angelyka) Foutch and step grandchildren Sandra Phelps, Natalie Cathey (Beau), Rochelle Millard (Robert), Gary Phelps II (Jennifer), Austin Phelps (Chelsea), in addition to many great grandchildren. He is survived by his brother Richard (Suzie) Deuser and Sister Patricia (Pete) Kosbab.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2021 from 4 – 7 p.m. at Sunset Lawn Chapel of the Chimes, 4701 Marysville Blvd, Sacramento, CA. A private funeral will be held on April 2nd, 2021 for immediate family. A celebration of life open to close friends and family will also be held on Friday, April 2nd at 1:00 p.m. at the Elkhorn Moose Lodge, 6003 Rio Linda Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in tribute to Jerome Deuser to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, Sacramento, CA.
