Jeanette Tucker's Obituary
Jeanette Exum Tucker died at the age of 82 on February 11, 2014. She resided in North highlands, California. Born in Manchester, Georgia, September 1, 1933 to mother, Endia Lee Steed and father, Nathan Exum. She was one of three siblings, 1 sister, and 1 brother. Jeanette was married September 9, 1922 to Herren Tucker in Sacramento, California. After graduating she furthered her education and begun her career as Elder Care Administrator in San Jose, California. During this time she was caregiver for many years for her mother.
She contributed to her church serving God as Sunday school teacher, Bible Study leader and always participated in organizing and baking for the church’s special events. Jeanette enjoyed attending the Rodeo where her brother competed as an expert equestrian. She also was an avid football fan and attended many games in San Francisco.
Jeanette was a cheerful, kind and loving person. Her sense of humor and optimism brought a smile to all around her. She always had encouraging words and was a comfort to anyone in need. Jeanette, the bearer of good news, would clip funny or inspirational stories from the newspaper and mail them to her friends regularly.
Jeanette is survived by sister, Mary Exum Harrel, her son Michael Dewayne Rhodes, stepdaughters, Meronica Dobson, Herrie Yarborough, Rochelle Foster and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by husband, Herren Tucker, 1 brother, and stepdaughter Kimberly Tucker.
